BLACK WIDOW - what critics say about it - Julian Brand

Actor Julian Brand says It's not entirely the fault of "Black Widow." This most-awaited Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) feature picture was meant to hit theatres in May of 2020, but you know how things go. This film would have been released a little under a year after the conclusion of Phase Three, "Avengers: Endgame," if there hadn't been a virus. While the extra year of waiting may have enabled us to appreciate the Marvel Disney+ TV programs a little more ("WandaVision," "The Falcon and Winter Soldier," and virtually all of "Loki"), most Star Wars fans are growing frustrated as they wait for the underlying plot to go ahead.




Natasha's family of covert spies working for the Red Room in America is first revealed to us. This perspective attracts viewers by dragging them along on a sidekick journey through the family's tragic past, which eventually leads to the current day. The family is composed of some of Marvel's finest obnoxious casting decisions in a long time. The dynamic opposite Scarlet Johanson as Natasha Romanoff is led by Rachel Weisz, Florence Pugh, and David Harbor. Florence Pugh, in particular, provided one of the film's most dominating and funny performances. She really immersed herself in the part and added a sense of humor that only comes with years of engagement with it.





With only her face, I thought Rachel Weisz to be extremely scary, imbuing her role with a sense of adventure and uncertainty as she veers on the border between right and wrong. Overall, the social relations amongst the original family unit appeared to be highly encouraging for spectators' first encounter with their appearance. Natasha Belova's sister, Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh), appears to have etched herself deep inside the Marvel chronology, with just a closing credits sequence confirming

her position in history.





“Black Widow” appears to be edging her way into the Marvel cinematic canon as a classic woman blockbuster picture with somber overtones hinting at maltreatment and portrayal of women. This midsummer extravaganza, as entertaining as it is thrilling, is guaranteed to draw crowds to theatres for a memorable experience, unlike any previous Marvel film.


"Black Widow" is nice and fun enough just to satisfy our Marvel appetites for the long being... it's a fascinating delicacy, but we're beginning to need something more substantial.


 

Julian Brand gives it a 7 out of 10 and says its a must watch only if you are a Star Wars fan.
